Best paper award for professor Aino Pöyhönen

Professor Aino Pöyhönen (D.Sc.(Econ.), knowledge management) from the Department of Business Administration has won the best paper award at the 7th International CINet Conference with her paper titled, Development and validation of a survey instrument for measuring organizational renewal capability.

The Continuous Innovation Network (CINet) is a global network set up to bring together researchers and industrialists working in the field of Continuous Innovation. CINet is a continuation of the European Continuous Improvement Network, which started as a Eureka project (EU 1222) in 1994. This year conference was organized in Lucca, Italy, 8.-12.9.2006.

In her paper Pöyhönen presents a theoretical model for structuring organizational renewal capability, a survey instrument based on the developed model, and the assessment on its reliability. The survey instrument is adaptable for organizations in different fields of operation, and it enables the comparison of renewal capability between the organizations. The review committee particularly acknowledged the thorough and in-depth theoretical work, which was carried out in building the model for renewal capability. It also recognized the methodologically high-grade level of the development and reporting process of the measure.
