InnoSpring Janus research project arranges second workshop
"Managing Paradoxes in Networks"
on 30th September starting from 1 PM. The location is Hotel Scandic Simonkenttä, Simonkatu 9, Helsinki, Mansku-kabinetti

Registration for the workshop: Please send an email indicating your attempt to attend the workshop to the project manager (pia.hurmelinnalut.fi) by 20th September. The workshop is free of charge; number of participants is needed for practical arrangements. Max 60 persons can be enrolled.

InnoSpring Janus research project organizes a morning coffee event
"Organizing for Continuous Innovation - Towards Next Generation Organizing"
On Friday, May 22nd, 0930-1100 am, at Hotel Torni's meeting room at 12th floor, Yrjönkatu 26, Helsinki.

Professor Charles C. Snow from PennState, US will make a presentation for those interested in discussing the change organizations are going through to become more flexible and collaborative to leverage global innovation communities. One of the communities of firms he will discuss as a case example is Blade.org set up by IBM and Intel. The Blade.org organizational design combines commons for the collective development and sharing of knowledge with explicit institutional mechanisms for the support of inter-member collaboration.

A special issue of the International Journal of Intellectual Property Management edited by Pia Hurmelinna-Laukkanen has been published (Vol 3, No. 1). The theme of the special issue "Tug of war in the field of IP - Searching for balanced attitude to managing intellectual property" deals with central themes related to managing paradoxes in networked economy

Report: Results of a pilot survey "Aineettoman omaisuuden luomisen ja hallinnan merkitys yrityksen menestyksessä" among 89 technology and service firms are reported in a summary Research Report (TBRC Research Reports 16), and company specific results have been reported to the participating firms

Researchers Riikka Ahteela and Mika Vanhala conducted a survey on organizational trust and its role in innovativeness and performance. A survey was conducted in May-June in two of the project firms In total 713 responses were received. Preliminary results have been delivered to the companies. Riikka and Mika would like to thank all the people who helped them with the survey as well as all the respondents

Results of the analyses from 16 SMEs in the Lappeenranta region are presented on 20th August 12.00-16.00 at the Lappeenranta University of Technology(lecture room 7332).

Reports of analyses of 16 SMEs have been sent to the analyzed companies. Discussions based on the results have been carried out.

The research group analyzed 8 SMEs in the Lappeenranta region during November-December 2007; The companies received their reports within one month after the analyses were conducted. The next round of analyses will be starting soon.

30.10.2007 InnoSpringAccess workshop on MobileTV Finland was held on Oct 30, 2007. InnoSpring Janus is a follow-up project of InnoSpring Access, therefore four researchers from InnoSpring Janus attended to this seminar as discussants.
