Jyri Vilko, Master of Science in Technology, will defend his doctoral dissertation at the Lappeenranta University of Technology on April 12th at 12 noon, room 1382. His dissertation is titled 

Approaches to Supply Chain Risk Management: Identification, Analysis and Control. 

Professor Hannu Kärkkäinen from Tampere University of Technology, Finland will act as opponent. Professor Jukka Hallikas of Lappeenranta University of Technology will act as custodian.

The multidisciplinary research institutes of Lappeenranta University of Technology – the South Karelian Institute, NORDI and TBRC – organised an open seminar entitled “Open your research – Science across boundaries” June 8th, 2011 at Lappeenranta University of Technology. 

The seminar discussed and presented multidisciplinary research from different perspectives. The opening words by Vice-rector Veli-Matti Virolainen were followed by three presentations on interesting multidisciplinary research topics and projects. 

The presentations, which were given by Valentina Fava, Pami Aalto and Outi Cavén-Pöysä, will be found below.
